Welcome to Logical Ecology. I’m not the Skeptical Environmentalist like Bjorn Lomborg, though I’m currently reading his book, Cool It The Skeptical Environmentalist’s Guide to Global Warming. But I do believe we should use logic in our efforts to “save the earth.” I’ve been in the water industry for over half my life, so that will be my focus. But I might have something to say about related environmental issues.
I’d like to hear your opinions, ideas, and information also.

I work for a private Zinc and Lead processing Company.
I am in the Water Treatment area and have found your comments helpful, and entertaining. Here in Oklahoma, we have problems with water quality. I am begainning to wonder, is my activities at work making the lead problem worst. We have been told that we are shipping lead to China. for our children’s sake, I hope not.
Yes I read Peter’s Bowman’s new blog. Looking foward to writing in my local area. Thanks for your web site.

Dale, thanks for writing. I wouldn’t worry about your company creating a water quality problem unless you see some specific activity that has you concerned.
EPA has pretreatment requirements for private companies like the one you work for. They’re quite stringent. Your company is likely regulated by both EPA and the local wastewater treatment entity, with monitoring and reporting requirements.
It’s good that you are thinking about it though! -Donna
